On 17 and 18 March, the technical partners met in Brussels with the purpose to evaluate the main user requirements and needs, so that they will form a solid basis of the technical specifications of VisualMedia.
From the project outset in January, NTNU has been in charge of visiting the six television stations which form the large-scale real-life realisation of VisualMedia: RTVE in Spain, Setanta in Ireland, BlueSky in Greece, TVR in Romania, BR in Germany and Hallingdolen in Norway. The main objective of those interviews was to interview the technical staff of each user site in order to understand their individual expectations and requirements of the solution.
In Brussels, NTNU shared the conclusions from the interviews with the technological partners in the project: Brainstorm, Never. No, Surrey University and Signum. The thorough analysis of the requirements and the use cases formulated by each television demanded a deep-dive into the integration of the different modules of VisualMedia: its social media engine, its graphic engine and its online distribution tool.
The meeting was hosted by Mid Norway in Brussels. The outcomes of the workshop were highly enlightening and provide guidance in formulating the needs, specifications and design of the solution, as well as the integration of the various VisualMedia logical components.
